Sometimes I get a prescription for minocycline which is also an antibiotic if I have an acne break-out. I read somewhere that if you are taking antibiotics you should reintroduce good bacteria to your digestive system. The only difference I can tell if I take these is more frequent evacuation.
When you take probiotics in a pill form it is usually horse pill sized. I think it is probably better to take probiotics in pill form because they are more likely to survive the digestion process of your stomach to get to your intestines where you want them to thrive. I just got tired of taking a cup 'o pills (I take a lot of vitamins and supplements) so I picked these up.
These chews are delicious and the consistency of taffy candy. The contain 20 calories, 5g carbs, and 3g of sugar. There is also a soy allergy warning on the back along with casein (milk protein) but these are lactose free. There are 30 foil wrapped chews in the bag and they are pretty good in the refrigerator. The package says the probiotic is Bacillus coagulens GBI-30, 6086 and there are 1 billion cfu in each chew.
