It makes my teeth feel extra clean, and I feel very good thinking that beneficial (or at least non-harmful) bacteria are in my mouth doing battle against the harmful bugs trying to get a foothold in my gums. I do admit it is a bit difficult to get the paste out of the tube -- have to squeeze really hard -- but I am supposing that is evidence that the good bacteria have been in there multiplying and stiffening up the paste (i.e. the cultures are still alive). I have also purchased this brand from my dentist in anise flavor, but I like the spearmint too: not too minty, which I can't handle.
