And after reading about the benefits of probiotics in the journal Pediatrics, I will continue to and may add other strains that have been clinically tested (I don't think these have been yet?) But I have stopped buying this from Amazon due to Udo's website warning that large percentages of the bacteria die when not refrigerated. I know Amazon doesn't ship it cooled, so I'm also assuming they don't store it cooled. And I have no idea how long they store it, which could mean we're getting only a portion of the benefit paid for.
"We can assume a 2%-4% decrease per month if the product has been kept refrigerated, for example 30 billion viable cells at a 2% decrease will contain 23.5 billion viable cells after 12 months. If left at room temperature, for 30 days an encapsulated product will experience a 20%-40% decrease in bacterial count."
I'm sure Amazon will act to correct this, and when they do I'll come back. In the mean time, google the product +cooled or check out iherb.com and others who store and ship it correctly.
